Learning Experiences

Our Learning Curriculum & Individual Room Programs

AT DMP Early Learning we offer children a high quality, innovative play-based curriculum that is guided by Belonging, Being and Becoming – The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) is the foundation document for ensuring children in all early years settings experience quality teaching and learning. The EYLF was developed by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. The EYLF recognises the complex nature of young children’s learning and provides principles and practices to guide educators working with children birth to 5 years of age and has at its centre children’s learning. The EYLF has five learning outcomes:

  1. Children have a strong sense of identity

  2. Children are connected with and contribute to their world

  3. Children have a strong sense of wellbeing

  4. Children are confident and involved learners

  5. Children are effective communicators

Educators together with the Educational Leader are responsible for planning early childhood curriculum programs consistent with the National Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards, the programs are child centred, developmentally appropriate and emerge from children’s observed interests.

Educators use the outcomes to observe children and plan for their ongoing development. When using the EYLF our educators acknowledge that children learn in a variety of ways and provide quality learning environments that are inclusive of all children.

How we support your child’s learning and preparation for school

  • self-regulating emotional skills

  • self-help skills

  • basic numeracy and literacy skills

  • environmental awareness

  • a connection to community

  • knowledge of good nutrition and physical exercise

  • kindness and respect

We always follow health and hygiene practices for handling, preparing and storing food. Children always have access to food and water throughout the day. We attempt to cater for all children’s individual dietary requirements and provide positive mealtime experiences through our educational program and role-modelling of healthy eating practices.
