These requirements include but are not limited to: providing a standard of care that meets regulations as a minimum, providing appropriate activities, experiences and programmes, maintaining correct ratios of educators and children, and ensuring Educators have required qualifications and skills.

DMP has a commitment to high quality early learning and consistency of care.

The centre currently has five age groupings to allow for individual needs, routines and smaller age and stage appropriate interactions and activities as outlined below.

Buttercup Room ~ up to 14 months

You will receive a very warm welcome when you step into our Buttercups Room.

With a maximum of only 8 babies, the environment is a calm and nurturing space that provides high quality care and education to babies from 6 weeks up to approximately 14 months.

Our Buttercup Educators are very experienced with supporting both children and families to settle in and begin building secure relationships.

Bluebells Room ~ 14 months-2 years

Between the ages of 1-2 children like to do things in their own time so it’s important they have a safe environment to learn, play and explore in.

Children can concentrate for a little longer so they are better listeners and will happily play alongside others and begin to cooperate when playing.

Educators ensure, that secure and meaningful relationships are built with all of the children and will help to guide children as they learn to manage their emotions and interactions with others. More words are being used and Educators provide lots of singing, dance and storytelling to support developing communication skills.

Snapdragons Room ~ 2-3 years

Throughout our 2–3-year-old program children will be provided with a learning environment which helps foster the development of self-help skills inspires imagination and supports the use of lots of make-believe and symbolic play, where children enjoy role playing what they have learnt at home, and in their immediate community.

Children practice skills and mimic situations, they see around them, this gives us the ideal opportunity to model through play how to respect others share and take turns the importance of taking care of the world around us ourselves and each other.

Forget-me-not ~ Room 3-5 years

In the 3-5-year-old Forget-me-not Room, learning areas are developed and built through a diverse range of learning experiences that are centered around the children’s current interests.

Each child is given the time to explore, experiment, problem solve and create through the engagement of a range of materials and resources including recyclable natural materials, creative art supplies, playdough, loose parts and books. there is a strong focus on literacy, language, numeracy, science and technology concepts.

Children show a strong interest in words and numbers and the beginning skills of writing and recognising their own name. Children form close friendships and learn respect for other children’s ideas.
