Preparing for child care

If possible, visit the centre with your child several times before leaving them for the first time. This allows you and your child to become familiar with educators and the environment.

Many children do become upset when left for the first time. This is a natural response to coping in a new environment and with unfamiliar people. Our educators are experienced in supporting children through this transition from home to care, and will work in partnership with your family to develop the most suitable strategies to comfort and support your child.

You are welcome to contact the centre (by phone) throughout the day and speak with educators in your childs room.
