Curriculum

We provide a play based, emergent curriculum which celebrates each child's individual ideas, strengths, interests and needs.

Our curriculum is guided by the Principles, Practices and Learning Outcomes of The Early Years Learning Framework.

The framework outlines a best-pratice approach to the provision of quality play-based learning opportunities throughout the formative birth to five period.

'Fundamental to the Framework is a view of children's lives as characterised by belonging, being and becoming'.

Belonging: The confidence which comes from experiencing a sense of belonging within a family, culture, neighbourhood and wider community.

Being: Acknowledging childhood as a time to celebrate the now - a time to experience life's joys and challenges, and simply be a child.

Becoming: The rapid changes that occur as young children learn, grow and begin their journey into active participation in society.

The quality of the education and care provided at early childhood services like DMP is now assessed by ACECQA under the National Quality Framework. This initiative aims to support centres to maintain and improve the quality of their care, and help families make informed choices about the suitability of various services for their child.
